Kim Kardashian Keeps Up With Herself — via Google Alert

Reality star enlists the internet to track her comings and goings

Kim Kardashian, self-obsessed? Yeah, we're pretty shocked, too — but that seems to be the implication of a series of photos published by Gawker on Tuesday.

In the photos, the "Keeping Up" reality star is spotted reading a Google alert about herself on her BlackBerry — strongly suggesting that, not only does Kardashian receive bulletins whenever her name appears in the news, but she actually stops to read them when they come in.

Given how many times Kardashian pops up in a typical news day, that's no small amount of solipsistic surfing. How does Kardashian manage it, with that jam-packed work schedule of hers?

More importantly, how does she reconcile the habit with her previous criticism of sister Kourtney Kardashian for doing the same thing?

During an interview published by xoJane in September, Kim chastised older sibling Kourtney for keeping digital tabs on herself.

"You have your own Google alerts?" Kim scoffed when Kourtney noted that she had just received a missive about her date with beau Scott Disick."We have that on record: Kourtney has her own Google alerts and checks them."

There is, of course, the possibility — however remote — that someone had merely forwarded Kardashian a particularly juicy nugget about herself, and the reality TV personality had merely been caught perusing the item at an inopportune time.

The verdict is still out on that one — Kardashian's spokesperson has not yet responded to TheWrap's request for comment. (And yes, we did reach out — pray for us, please.)

Of course, given the Kardashian clan's penchant for self-promotion, this could just as easily be a set-up for some sort of sponsorship deal between Kim and Google.

But we'd prefer to believe that Kardashian really does keep constant tabs on her own goings-on. Because it means that this very missive might end up in her BlackBerry in-box. In which case, we'd like to let her know, it's okay — sometimes, on a cold and lonely night, we Google ourselves too. Good thing nobody takes pictures while we do it.
