Not surprisingly, much of the coverage of Brittany Murphy’s untimely passing has focused on her film work in movies such as "Eight Mile" and "Sin City." But for many folks, Murphy will best be remembered as the voice of Luanne in more than 200 episodes of Fox’s long-running animated comedy "King of the Hill."
While Luanne could have easily turned into a dumb blonde stereotype, Murphy– along with the "KOTH" writers– always made sure to give her more depth. She was never just a ditz; she was just in her own Luanne universe.
The clip below shows off Murphy’s vocal range, as, over the space of a minute, the actress switches from her usual Texas twang to a British accent and back again.
Meanwhile, "King of the Hill" co-creator Greg Daniels told TheWrap Monday he was shocked to hear of Murphy’s death.
"Brittany was extremely kind, talented, funny, and in love with acting," Daniels said via email. "She was a joy to be around. This is very tragic news."
