‘Knock Knock’ Star Ana de Armas to Play Miles Teller’s Girlfriend in ‘Arms and the Dudes’

Jonah Hill also stars in Todd Phillips’ new Warner Bros. comedy, which follows a pair of arms dealers

“Knock Knock” knockout Ana de Armas is in negotiations to star alongside Miles Teller and Jonah Hill in Todd Phillips‘ dark comedy “Arms and the Dudes,” an individual familiar with the Warner Bros. project has told TheWrap.

Hill and Teller will play a pair pair of potheads who become unlikely arms dealers when they win a $300 million contract from the government to supply America’s allies in Afghanistan with weapons. As one might guess, the situation spirals out of control and the two find themselves way out of their depths.

Cuban actress de Armas will play Teller’s girlfriend, who is the female lead.

Jason Smilovic adapted the Rolling Stone article by Guy Lawson. “Arms and the Dudes” is the first project produced under 22nd & Green, the new company run by Phillips and Bradley Cooper, who is producing with Mark Gordon. Bryan Zuriff is executive producing, while Warner Bros. executives Jesse Ehrman and Jon Gonda are overseeing the project for the studio.

De Armas played a convincing psychopath who tortures Keanu Reeves alongside Lorenza Izzo in Eli Roth’s “Knock Knock,” which Lionsgate acquired at Sundance. She next stars opposite Edgar Ramirez in “Hands of Stone” and recently reteamed with Reeves on “Daughter of God.” She’s represented by CAA and Impression Entertainment.
