Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov slammed CNN’s documentary on Russian President Vladimir Putin as “biased and, to a great extent, fictional,” according to Russian News Agency TASS.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Putin has not seen CNN’s film, “The Most Powerful Man in the World,” but isn’t a fan of what he’s heard.

“It is completely in line with the recent hysterical allegations which are absolutely groundless, based on fictional beliefs,” Peskov told reporters, according to TASS.

Peskov continued: “These beliefs are often presented by people who have already taken back seats.”

Fareed Zakaria’s documentary examines how Putin rose power in a post-Stalin and post-Soviet Union world. Peskov appeared in the film in an attempt to clarify the Kremlin’s stance, but not everything he said made the film, he told Russian reporters.

“This is why it is a rather biased documentary, but there is nothing new in it,” Peskov said.

CNN’s Zakaria has been extremely critical of President Trump. The film also features former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger and former Secretary of Defense Robert Gates in addition to various journalists.
