Kristin Cavallari: ‘The Hills’ Was Fake! Really!

The star tweets in an attempt to “finally” dispel any remaining doubts

It was obvious almost from the get-go that MTV's reality show "The Hills" wasn't exactly cinema verité. But apparently series star Kristin Cavallari still has to explain to people that the show was staged.

Cavallari used Twitter Friday morning in an attempt to "finally" dispel remaining doubts.

Of course, any questions should have been put to rest with the series finale June 13, when the show took its final bows with an episode that slyly referenced its longtime pretense of reality. Just before the credits rolled, the cameras pulled back to reveal  Cavallari and her on-again, off-again onscreen boyfriend Brody Jenner standing on a film studio backlot.

In the same scene,  Cavallari said goodbye to Jenner as she departed for Paris. Friday morning, Cavallari posted a message on her Twitter account that said, "I think I shld finally let everyone know I'm not going 2 Europe. It was 4 the show."

Cavallari's note was a response to one of her followers on the social media site who sent her a message that said, "I thought U wr going 2 Europe?"

Having to spend the rest of your life explaining that you aren't the character you portrayed on a purported reality show seems a perfectly fitting punishment for someone who helped fuel the franchise that brought us Spencer and Heidi.

Sorry Kristin, Karma is a bitch.
