Lady Antebellum knows a thing or two about love songs, and they’ve offered up their talents to the latest Nicholas Sparks adaptation, “The Best of Me.” The film hits theaters Oct. 17, but fans can get an extended peek at it in the music video for Lady Antebellum’s single “I Did With You.”
The lyric video places the message of the song over scenes from Sparks’ 2011 story of high school sweethearts torn apart by family and separated for 20 years. When they come together again at a funeral, the old sparks rekindle.
There’s a lot more going on in the story, but at the heart of it is this love between two people that time and circumstance can not tear apart. And that’s a message that comes through strongly in the video, with just the right amount of emotional manipulation by the band.
The two mesh together as perhaps the best possible promotion for the upcoming Relativity Media release. Sure to be a tearjerker, “The Best of Me” stars James Marsden and Luke Bracey as the older and younger male lead, while Michelle Monaghan and Liana Liberator pull double duty as the female lead.
The cast is supported by Gerald McRaney, Jon Tenney, Sebastian Arcelus and Schuyler Fisk. The book was adapted by Will Fetters, J. Mills Goodloe and Michael Hoffman, who also directed. Produced by Sparks, Justin Burns, Denise Di Novi, Alison Greenspan, and
