Lady Gaga joined James Corden for a little “Carpool Karaoke” last night, when the “Late Late Show” host tried to teach the newly licensed driver how to navigate Los Angeles traffic. Watching the pop star operate a Range Rover, you have to believe the DMV graded her road test on a celebrity curve.
Beyond scaring the life out of their fellow motorists, Gaga also leads Corden in a singalong of “Perfect Illusion,” “Bad Romance,” “The Edge of Glory” and her other huge hits, of course. She’s much, much better at this singing thing than the driving one.
Early in their shared commute, the pop star tells Corden that she feels “pretty good, man” about being asked to do the upcoming Super Bowl halftime show. The two then perfectly recreate what that phone call from the NFL must have gone like, to a “T.”
Later on, Gaga talks about all the Michael Jackson clothing she purchased at auction. She keeps more than 400 pieces in a temperature-controlled room to preserve it forever, the songstress said.
Somehow, that prompted a discussion of boy band O-Town, marking the first time in history that M.J. talk gave way to a conversation about Erik-Michael Estrada, Trevor Penick, Jacob Underwood and Dan Miller.
The big moment of this “Carpool Karaoke,” however, was when Corden tried on a bunch of colorful Gaga outfits throughout the years, including the infamous meat dress from the MTV VMAs. When the actor started eating from it, Gaga looked like she was about to puke. Watch the video above.
