Lake Bell’s ‘In a World’ Trailer Honors the Voiceover Cliche (Video)

In a world where women are no longer new to the workplace, can a female voice coach do blockbuster movie V.O.'s?

In a world where movie trailers have finally grown tired of a clichéd opening line, one film is bold enough to bring it back. That film is the aptly titled "In a World," and its trailer was released Wednesday.

The film, distributed by Roadside Attractions (and Sony internationally), follows Carol Solomon (Lake Bell, who also wrote and directed the movie), an underachieving female voice coach in a male-dominated business. She gets no encouragement from the sexist industry, and little more at home from her father (Fred Melamed), a Hollywood legend.

Solomon is chasing a dream job to prove the doubters wrong. But to get it, she'll have to trample the boys' club, and her own dad.

Demetri Martin, Rob Corddry, Nick Offerman and Geena Davis round out the cast.

Here's the trailer.
