Another high-profile exit from Newsweek was revealed Thursday as Lally Weymouth, a special diplomatic correspondent will join the Washington Post later this month as a senior associate editor, according to a report.
Weymouth is the mother of Post publisher Katherine Weymouth and an heir to the media company's family fortune. Her brother Donald Graham is chief executive of the Washington Post Co.
Numerous senior staffers have been fleeing Newsweek since audio magnate Sidney Harman agreed to buy the struggling magazine from the Washington Post Co., in recent weeks, including editor-in-chief Jon Meacham, senior editor Michael Hirsch, international editor Fareed Zakaria, editor-at-large Evan Thomas, editorial director Mark Miller, and from the digital side, general manager Geoff Reiss and executive editor Gabriel Snyder.
Weymouth's move was first posted on Gorkana and reported by Yahoo/The Upshot.
