Lamar Odom is apparently unaware of the circumstances that led up to his hospitalization.
Odom’s estranged wife, Khloe Kardashian, appears on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” on Monday to discuss, among other topics, Odom — who was hospitalized after being found unconscious in a Nevada brothel in October.
According to Kardashian, she’s kept the particulars of the incident a secret from the former NBA star.
“We tell him he had a brain injury. I can’t tell him how that brain injury was caused, because it will set him back,” Kardashian tells DeGeneres in a teaser for the episode.
Odom hasn’t inquired about the circumstances, either, Kardashian said.
“He never asks why he’s here, he’s never asked … yeah, no, he doesn’t ask,” Kardashian said.
While Odom’s condition continues to improve, the reality TV star told DeGeneres that there’s still a lot of cognitive progress for him to make.
“He’s really confused a lot, we have to remind him … every day is different. Sometimes he knows who the president is, or his birthday, and then other times he thinks he’s 26, and I said, ‘I bet you wish you were 26, so do I,’” Kardashian said.
Odom was hospitalized after checking into the Love Ranch brothel in Nevada for a five-day spree with two prostitutes. According to 911 calls placed by brothel employees, Odom had admitted to taking cocaine prior to his arrival, and had taken up to 10 herbal sexual enhancers during his stay.
However, court papers obtained by TheWrap indicated that there’s evidence that Odom had ingested cocaine during his brothel stay.
