As Lamar Odom continues to recover after being found unconscious in a Nevada brothel, it seems that other wounds are developing on the family front.
Odom’s father, Joe Odom, told TMZ on Wednesday night that he’s being blocked from visiting his son in the hospital, and has twice been turned away.
“I’m mad, I’m upset, because this is the second time I came to see my son, and they won’t let me see my son,” the elder Odom said.
“Like I’m a villain or something. That’s my son!” he added.
Joe Odom claims that he was told he wasn’t on the visitors list, even though he insists Odom’s organization, Boulevard Management, said otherwise.
The senior Odom placed the blame for his ostracism squarely on the shoulders of his son’s estranged wife, Khloé Kardashian.
“They let other people see my son that is not even related to him,” Odom said.
Asked about his son’s medical condition, the elder Odom said, “I can’t really say anything because I haven’t seen him in four days.”
It should be noted that Joe Odom has had his own struggles with substance abuse and his relationship with Lamar has seen its ups and downs.
Former NBA and reality TV star Odom was found unconscious in the Love Ranch brothel Oct. 13, after booking a five-day stay.
While 911 calls from brothel employees initially indicated that Odom admitted to taking cocaine prior to his arrival at the brothel and had taken “up to 10” herbal sexual enhancement supplements during his stay, court papers obtained by TheWrap indicate that there’s evidence that Odom might have ingested cocaine during his stay.
After being hospitalized in Nevada, Odom was transported to Los Angeles for further treatment.
