Lance Bass Thinks Caitlyn Jenner Needs ‘Room to Grow’ on Same Sex Marriage

“What I don’t get is she’s sitting there in Givenchy, full makeup, saying, ‘I’m a traditionalist.’ I’m like, ‘What?'” N’Sync singer says

Former N’Sync member Lance Bass is willing to give Caitlyn Jenner the benefit of the doubt after Jenner admitted she did not in the past support gay marriage.

“I have to give her some room, too, because I mean, even when I came out, I still caught myself saying, ‘Oh, she’s so hot,’ like doing that thing that you trained yourself to do for so many years, so I think we should give her a little room to grow,” Bass said Wednesday on “The Meredith Vieira Show,” referring to Jenner’s recent appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”

Bass was a little shocked when he heard Jenner’s initial stance, however. “What I don’t get is she’s sitting there in Givenchy, full makeup, saying, ‘I’m a traditionalist.’ I’m like, ‘What?’” he said.

Jenner spoke with DeGeneres Tuesday, saying, “I have to admit that I remember 15 years ago, 20 years ago, whenever it was that the whole gay marriage issue came up, at first, I was not for it. I mean, I thought, ‘I’m a traditionalist.’”

“But as time goes on, like a lot of people on this issue, I’ve really changed thinking here to: ‘I don’t ever want to stand in front of anybody’s happiness’ … If that word ‘marriage’ is really, really that important to you, I can go with it,” she said.
