“Last Man Standing” is still standing strong.
The sitcom’s Friday Fox premiere marked the network’s most-watched comedy in almost 7 years, excluding NFL nights.
Additionally, the Tim Allen show just enjoyed its highest-rated episode since the Season 2 premiere, which was on ABC. That was six years and five seasons ago.
So yeah, Fox won Friday in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic — and that’s the third-straight night the broadcaster can make that claim. Fox hasn’t pulled that off during a Fall TV premiere week since 2011.
Though Fox finished second to CBS in average primetime viewers last night, its 5.3 million haul marked Fox’s most-watched Friday with entertainment programming in more than 9 and-a-half years.
In other words, this whole resuscitation thing was a success.
