Latest ‘Flash’ Trailer Echoes CW’s ‘Arrow’ With ‘My Name Is…’ Voiceover (Video)

Grant Gustin even sounds a bit like Stephen Amell as he announces, “My name is Barry Allen, and I am the fastest man alive”

For the past two seasons, Stephen Amell has done a voiceover on “Arrow” introducing his character and his story, always starting with the words, “My name is Oliver Queen.” The latest trailer for The CW spin-off “The Flash” firmly establishes itself as part of “Arrow’s” world by echoing Oliver’s words.

Juxtaposed with very slick visuals showing just how awesome it would be to be able to run as fast as the Flash, the video ends with Grant Gustin speaking a very familiar phrase.

“My name is Barry Allen,” he says. “And I am the fastest man alive.” The latter is the long-time tagline used by DC Comics to describe their scarlet speedster.

“The Flash” is one of the most highly-anticipated new fall dramas, and one of the most well-received by critics. Based on the promotional materials seen so far, it’s definitely going to have a lighter tone than “Arrow,” which often broods even darker than Batman.
