Laura Benanti’s Melania Trump Returns to ‘The Late Show’ to Dispute Omarosa’s Claims (Video)

“What kind of person ends up in the White House after being on ‘The Apprentice’?” she asks Stephen Colbert

Melania Trump returned to Stephen Colbert’s “Late Show” on Thursday. At least, the first lady did so in the form of actress Laura Benanti.

Benanti’s Melania dropped by the CBS series to dispute Omarosa’s claims in “Unhinged.” She didn’t do a great job of it and actually ended up plugging the book instead.

“She is a whacky lowlife,” Benanti said of her husband’s former adviser, stealing President Trump’s insulting new nickname-esque phrase for Omarosa. “What kind of person ends up in the White House after being on ‘The Apprentice’?”

There’s more where that zinger came from. At the end of the sketch, Benanti’s character declares that she is following LeBron James to Los Angeles.

“It’s never too late to leave home and side with the other team,” she said, citing the (again) former Cleveland Cavalier. “I’m going to the Lakers baby!”
