Laura Linney is in talks to join Benedict Cumberbatch in DreamWorks “Untitled Julian Assange WikiLeaks Project"

Laura Linney is in talks to join Benedict Cumberbatch in DreamWorks “Untitled Julian Assange WikiLeaks Project,” a person familiar with the situation told TheWrap.

James McAvoy is also talks for the project, which is based on two books: "Inside WikiLeaks: My Time with Julian Assange at the World's Most Dangerous Website" by Daniel Domscheit-Berg, and "WikiLeaks: Inside Julian Assange's War on Secrecy" by David Leigh and Luke Harding.  

Domscheit-Berg was an executive at WikiLeaks which was founded by Assange.

DreamWorks had no comment.

David Leigh and Luke Harding, reporters for the British newspaper The Guardian, helped Julian Assange with his revelations.

 Cumberbatch is due to play Assange with McAvoy in talks for the role of Domcheit-Berg.

Bill Condon is directing from a script by Josh Singer. The film is looking to shoot in Berlin, Belgium and Iceland at the beginning of 2013. 

Linney has been nominated for an Oscar three times for the films "The Savages," "Kinsey," and "You Can Count on Me." Linney is repped by ICM.
