Leeza Gibbons to Co-Host ‘America Now’ Syndicated News Show

Former “Entertainment Tonight” personality will sit alongside one-time “Apprentice” winner Bill Rancic; daily series will begin its first full run in September

Leeza Gibbons is getting back into the news game.

The long-standing television personality has signed on for the upcoming news program "America Now," a new series from Raycom Media and ITV Studios America, ITV announced on Wednesday.

The 30-minute, daily show, which Gibbons will co-host with Bill Rancic of "Giuliana & Bill," will "deliver short segments of timely information that's beneficial to viewers’ lives" and "touch on topics that are lifestyle in nature, from health and beauty, to finance, family and home," according to the announcement.

The series — which has been broadcast on 43 Raycom stations since October — is set to begin its first full run on September 12.

Declaring herself "thrilled" to be involved with a show that's "meant to enhance the lives of viewers with information they can put to use immediately,” Gibbons added. "Today’s consumers have practically unlimited resources for information, but they have a finite amount of time. If we can help deliver succinct tools and advice that make viewers smarter, safer, stronger and more empowered, then we’ve done our jobs.”

Gibbons' decades-long career includes an 11-year stint as a correspondent for "Entertainment Tonight"; she's also served as managing editor for "Extra," and hosted her own syndicated talk show, "Leeza." More recently, she competed on "Dancing With the Stars" in 2007 and currently hosts PBS' lifestyle series "My Generation."
