TNT orders pilot based on Swedish vampire novel by John Ajvide Lindqvist

Let the Right One In

“Teen Wolf” showrunner Jeff Davis has found his next gig, and will write and executive produce a series adaptation of Swedish vampire story “Let the Right One In” at TNT, TheWrap has leanred.

The project, which has been ordered to pilot, will be based on the Swedish novel by John Ajvide Lindqvist, which was turned into a critically acclaimed film by Tomas Alfredson in 2008, and an English-language remake called “Let Me In” in 2010.

Story follows a young bullied boy who forms a friendship with a female vampire who appears to be his age.

“‘Let the Right One In’ combines elements of horror, revenge thriller and adolescent romance into an unforgettable and truly unsettling tale,” said Sarah Aubrey, EVP of original programming for TNT, in a statement. “This novel is a watershed of rich storytelling, making it an abundant source from which Jeff, Marty, Becky and Simon will bring to life in this all-new adaptation.”

Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements of Tomorrow Studios and Simon Oakes of Hammer Films are also executive producing, along with Carl Molinder, who produced the original screenplay, and Alex Brunner.
