Ratings: Fox’s ‘Lethal Weapon,’ ‘Gifted’ Returns Tie NBC Repeats on New Year’s Day

Everything else on the English-language nets was also a rerun — and rated even lower

Reruns on NBC were able to match Fox originals in New Year’s Day primetime ratings, with the two networks tying atop the Nielsen leaderboard. Airing all repeats itself, CBS finished No. 1 among total viewers for on Tuesday night.

ABC and The CW also just aired encores. Yes, it was another slow holiday evening on TV.

NBC and Fox each had a 0.6 rating/2 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic. NBC was second in total viewers with an average of 2.9 million, according to preliminary numbers. Fox was third in viewers with 2.6 million.

For Fox, “Lethal Weapon” at 8 p.m. got a 0.7/3 and 3.4 million viewers. At 9, “The Gifted” received a 0.5/2 and 1.7 million viewers.

CBS, ABC and Univision tied for third in ratings, each with a 0.5/2. CBS was first in total viewers with 5 million, ABC was fourth with 2.4 million, and Univision was fifth with 1.4 million.

Telemundo was sixth in ratings with a 0.3/1 and in viewers with 920,000.

The CW was seventh in ratings with a 0.2/1 and in viewers with 782,000.
