Lindsay Lohan to Attend White House Correspondents’ Dinner; Yes, She’s Invited

Lindsay Lohan is going to Washington — and no, it's not to testify before Congress against the overly aggressive and intrusive tactics of paparazzi.

Getty ImagesThe "Mean Girls" actress will appear at this Saturday's White House Correspondents' Association Dinner. She will attend the event, which each year merges humor and politics, with her attorney, Shawn Holley, as guests of Fox News personality Greta Van Susteren and her husband, John Coale, the actress' publicist told TheWrap.

Lohan will be in good company at the annual event; according to Politico, other celebrities expected to attend include George Clooney;  Steven Spielberg; "Hunger Games" stars Josh Hutcherson and Elizabeth Banks; Sofia Vergara and her "Modern Family" castmates Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Julie Bowen and Eric Stonestreet; "Homeland" star Claire Danes and Charlize Theron.

"Jimmy Kimmel Live" host Jimmy Kimmel will headline the event this year, taking over from last year's featured speaker, "Saturday Night Live" funny man Seth Meyers.

Lohan, who recently had her formal probation stemming from a DUI arrest dropped after successfully completing a regimen of community service and therapy sessions, has been upping her profile of late. Earlier this week it was announced that she'll star as screen legend Elizabeth Taylor in Lifetime's upcoming biopic "Liz & Dick."
