‘Lion King’ Cast Surprises Virgin Passengers With Live ‘Circle of Life’ Performance (Video)

Not everyone enjoyed the impromptu show

Virgin Australia passengers aboard flight 0970 were either thrilled, annoyed or very confused Monday when the cast of Australia’s “The Lion King” stage show performed a live, a capella version of “Circle of Life.”

The eight-person chorus, led by Buyi Zama — the female vocalist behind the lead tole of Rafiki  — broke out the Broadway hit while returning from a promotional visit to Brisbane, where they launched the Queensland leg of the musical on Monday.

Watch the impromptu performance that most passengers appeared to enjoy, with the exception of that one fella in the glasses sitting in the left-hand aisle seat two rows behind the singers. He clearly couldn’t have cared less.
