Lionsgate will host its annual shareholders meeting on Dec. 14, the company announced on Monday. The meeting will be in Los Angeles, not in Canada where the studio is based.
The announcement comes as the studio comes off a string of box office-hits such as "The Last Exorcism" and "The Expendables," but there are still a number of big issues ahead. Investor Carl Icahn is still doggedly pursuing his takeover of the studio, and Lionsgate and the billionaire are still engaged in several legal battles in New York and Canada.
His latest tender offer for shares of the company is set to expire on Nov. 12. He currently owns 33 percent of Lionsgate.
Moreover, though Lionsgate failed in its attempts to out-maneuver Spyglass for control of MGM, a merger with the cash-strapped studio still remains a possibility later on down the road.
