Derek Hough came out victorious in the sibling “Lip Sync Battle” in New York’s Central Park Monday, beating sister Julianne Hough thanks to some dazzling moves and raps.
Derek got the crowd going as he rapped to Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ “Can’t Hold Us” before plunging himself into the audience.
His sister countered with a sultry rendition of The Lonely Island’s “I Just Had Sex” as her brother humorously cringed.
In the end, it was Derek who stole the show as he rocked out to The Darkness’ “I Believe in a Thing Called Love,” wearing a white jumpsuit and headband to mimic lead singer Justin Hawkins.
Julianne’s choice of Chumbawamba’s “Tubthumping” sadly didn’t hit the right note, so Derek was named the winner by host LL Cool J, who also went retro by rapping some of his most popular oldies while lifting a young girl from the crowd and rocking her in his arms.
And the quirky “Broad City” duo of Abbi Jacobson, Ilana Glazer were the halftime highlights. Dressed in a long gown, Jacobson lit the crowd on fire as she belted out “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going” from “Dreamgirls.”
Like in the Comedy Central hit, Jacobson was a little raunchy, thrusting the mic stand.
Her counterpart, Glazer, donned a yellow raincoat and umbrella to perform classic “It’s Raining Men” equipped with sprawling hunks by her side.
Glazer conceded that Jacobson won that round, but she’ll have a chance for revenge when the two square off on the the TV show in August.
“Lip Sync Battle” airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET on Spike TV.
