Yeardley Smith, the actress who voices Lisa Simpson on “The Simpsons,” does not approve of Secretary of State Mike Pompeo tweeting pictures of her character to make political jokes.

Smith took an opportunity to drop a “f— you” in Pompeo’s direction Wednesday after he tweeted a picture of Lisa Simpson crying while ripping up some pieces of paper in a pointed jab at Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, who ripped up President Trump’s speech at the end of his State of the Union address earlier this week.

Smith chimed in on Twitter after New Jersey representative Bill Pascrell, Jr. informed Pompeo that, “In this episode Lisa loses her faith in democracy after seeing a corrupt politician selling out American values and liberty. Like your boss.”

Pascrell then tagged in the actress, adding, “@YeardleySmith can probably explain better than I can. Nice self-own though.”

“That’s pretty good! I might just add f*ck you @mikepompeo for co-opting my character to troll @SpeakerPelosi,” Smith replied. “Be a leader and fight you [sic] own fight! Oh, wait I forgot, you’re a follower.”

Things got more interesting when Bill Oakley, former showrunner for the wildly popular, long-running Fox series, replied to Pompeo’s original tweet with this demand: “Mr. Secretary of State please do not ever ever ever use Simpsons material in your twitter or watch the show or refer to it in any way.”
