‘Liv and Maddie’ Goes ‘Cali Style’ in New Opening Credits (Exclusive Video)

Dove Cameron twin sitcom moves to California for fourth season and gets a new motif to go with it

Disney Channel sitcom “Liv and Maddie” becomes “Liv and Maddie: Cali Style” when it premieres its fourth season this fall, and the Dove Cameron comedy has a new opening credits sequence to go along with its new theme.

Season 4 will see the Rooneys pack up from Wisconsin and move in with some cousins in sunny California, where Liv (Cameron) will continue to pursue her acting and Maddie (Cameron) has been accepted into college on a basketball scholarship.

As the show goes “Cali Style,” so do the opening credits (above), which have moved from the family bathroom mirror to a much sunnier and funkier theme, complete with the Santa Monica pier, the beach, palm trees and everyone in sunglasses.

“We love, love, love the main titles we had for the first three seasons of ‘Liv and Maddie,’” showrunners John D. Beck and Ron Hart told TheWrap. “We never wanted to change them, but the family was dancing in a bathroom that we collapsed into a heap of dust in our Season 3 finale. It was time for a new look and we think it’s amazing.”

“Liv and Maddie” also stars Joey Bragg, Tenzing Norgay Trainor, Kali Rocha and Lauren Lindsey Donzis.

Season 4 of the show premieres on Friday, September 23, on Disney Channel.
