Louis Zorich, ‘Mad About You’ Actor, Dies at 93

He also starred in 1971’s “Fiddler on the Roof”

Louis Zorich, who played Paul Reiser’s dad on the 1990s sitcom “Mad About You,” has died. He was 93.

Zorich died peacefully on January 30th in his home in New York City, his representative told TheWrap on Thursday.

Zorich was married to Olympia Dukakis, who won an Oscar for her supporting role as Cher’s mother in “Moonstruck” in 1987. They had been married since 1962.

In addition to his role on “Mad about You,” Zorich had a career on Broadway that began in the 1960s and spanned until 2003. He appeared in productions such as “Becket,” “Hadrian VII”–for which he was nominated for a Tony Award–“The Odd Couple,” “Follies” and “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.”

His other credits include “Fiddler on the Roof” (1971), “The Muppets Take Manhattan” (1984) and “Detachment” (2011).

In addition to his wife, Zorich is survived by his children Christina, Peter and Stefan, and grandchildren Isabella, Sofia, Luka and Erlinda.
