Fame looks good on Luke Cage — at least for a while.
After Season 1, Luke, played by Mike Colter, is enjoying a new level of fame in Harlem — and online, from the looks of it. In the opening of the new Season 2 trailer, Luke sets off an explosion and then turns to the camera to say, “I’m Luke Cage. You wanna test me? You know where to find me.”
Luke then waltzes down the street, iced latte in hand, muscles on display, taking selfies with fans of the bulletproof hero. We’re also interested to see if anything works out with the New York Jets.
But is the attention going to Luke’s head? Fans get a first look at the new baddie in town, Bushmaster, who, in the comics, appears first as John McIver, a master criminal, and then again as Quincy McIver, a superhero with a bionic snake tail and arms.
All of your favorite characters from Season 1 are in the trailer, too: Misty Knight (Simone Missick), Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson) and Mariah Dillard (Alfre Woodard), who delivers the best line of the two-minute, 20-second preview: “Harlem doesn’t need a hero. It needs a queen.”

“Luke Cage” Season 2 premieres on Netflix on June 22.
