President Donald Trump signed the anticipated $1.3 trillion omnibus spending bill on Friday. The decision will keep the government open and funded for the foreseeable future, though Trump told assembled reporters at a signing ceremony that wasn’t happy about any of it.
“I looked very seriously at the veto. I was thinking about doing the veto,” he said. “But because of the incredible gains that we’ve been able to make for the military, that overrode any of our thinking.”
“I say to Congress, I will never sign another bill like this again,” he added. “I’m not going to do it again. Nobody read it. It’s only hours old. Some people don’t even know what’s in it.”
This morning, Trump teased that he might veto the budget-busting bill in part due to paltry funding for his cherished border wall.

The sudden cave left many of President Trump’s most ardent supporters deeply disappointed. Conservative fire queen Ann Coulter led the charge in a tweetstorm.
Coulter is one of the 45 people Trump follows on the platform — and unless he’s muted her, it won’t be easy for him to miss it.
“ I will never sign another bill like this again”
Yeah, because you’ll be impeached.

MASSIVE DEFENSE SPENDING to induct transgenders & build BIG BEAUTIFUL walls … in Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, and Tunisia.

Ann, however, was hardly alone in her contempt at being thrown under the omnibus. She was joined by many of Trump’s far-right supporters — including many of the television hosts on his unofficial Fox News cabinet.
Missed opportunity by @realDonaldTrump by signing this spending bill. If he loses the House, Dems will go straight to impeachment. @realDonaldTrump

… And, of course, no Trump controversy would be complete without an addition to “there’s a tweet for everything” file, which was supplied by this tweet from 2012.
