Fox’s “Empire” has grown yet again — or at least its cast has: Adam Rodriguez is set to recur as a guest star on Season 2 of the network’s mega-smash.

The “CSI: Miami” actor will play Laz Delgado on Lee Daniels‘ hip-hop soap opera. Delgado is described by the studio as “a smooth-talking concert promoter with expert hustler skills.”

The native New Yorker and former EMT will take an interest in Cookie. Expect drama.

Previously announced guest stars on the sophomore season include Chris Rock, Lenny Kravitz, Alicia Keys, and Ne-Yo.

Rodriguez, who can currently be seen recurring on NBC’s “The Night Shift,” is represented by UTA and A Management. The actor best known for his role as Eric Delko on “CSI: Miami” will next appear in “Magic Mike XXL.”

The Season 2 premiere of “Empire” is set for Sep. 23 at 9 p.m. on Fox. “Empire” is produced by Twentieth Century Fox Television.
