Maisie Williams Accidentally Spills a Giant ‘Game of Thrones’ Character Death – Psych! (Video)

Not cool, Arya

Maisie Williams might have just been the first “Game of Thrones” cast member to ever reveal a major spoiler in the history of the soon-to-end HBO series. And we say might because she didn’t actually. Allow us to explain.

Williams, who plays Arya Stark on “GoT,” stopped by Monday’s “Tonight Show” to give what little info she could about the show’s upcoming eighth and final season. And along with listing off her five favorite moments playing the youngest assassin in the Seven Kingdoms, the girl who formerly had no name revealed that her character dies in the second episode of the six-episode season. Oops?

Yeah, that would have been a really, really, really bad slip — if it had been real. While Maisie put on a great show of looking terrified while host Jimmy Fallon realized what she had just done and running off the set in mortification — she turned out to be an even bigger ham when it was revealed she and the NBC late-night host had cooked up the entire bit as an April Fools’ Day prank.

Watch the clip above.

Honestly, how dare them? But we have to say it was a fantastic moment and one we should have seen coming from a mile away. ‘Cause there is just no way Arya dies in the second episode.

“Game of Thrones” Season 8 premiers April 14 at 9/8c on HBO.
