Tomorrow Studios enters development deal with online retailer’s TV platform

Margaret Cho‘s “Highland” has scored a pilot script order from Amazon. The order is part of an overall development deal between Tomorrow Studios and the online retailer’s TV platform.

The hourlong dramedy project follows Cho, who, after a court-ordered rehab stint, gets a chance to start over — but she has to move in with her dysfunctional family, which now runs a pot dispensary.

That seems like it could cause a problem.

Cho has recently made headlines defending Planned Parenthood, criticizing “Saturday Night Live” producers for scheduling “known racist” Donald Trump as host and opening up about her former life as a sex worker.

“There’s no shame in it,” the outspoken comic wrote to her Twitter followers.

The potential series is a co-production between Tomorrow Studios — a partnership between ITV Studios and Marty Adelstein — and Amazon Studios. It would be set for Amazon Prime.

“Lost” scribe Liz Sarnoff is writer and executive producer. Cho, Marty Adelstein, and Becky Clements also executive produce.
