Mariah Carey is headed to “The Voice.”

The Grammy-winning recording artist will join the NBC reality competition series as a key adviser for the knockout rounds, beginning Oct. 29. Carey will work with and mentor the remaining 32 contestants with coaches Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton.

“The Voice” continues with the battle rounds on Tuesday nights. The coaches enlist the help of top recording artists to offer their knowledge and skills as advisors. Kelly Clarkson teams up with Thomas Rhett; Jennifer Hudson with Halsey; Adam Levine with Cee Lo Green; and Blake Shelton with Keith Urban.

In the next phase of the competition, the knockout rounds, the remaining 32 hopefuls will be paired against a teammate once more, but this time they will select their own songs to perform individually while their direct competitor watches and waits. They are vying for their coach’s confidence and decision to take them to the final and crucial round before the live performance shows, the live playoffs.

As the knockout adviser, Carey will be on hand to work with all of the coaches and their teams as they prepare the artists for this challenge.

Mariah Carey is the best-selling female artist of all time, with more than 200 million albums sold to date and 18 Billboard Hot 100 #1 singles, more than any solo artist in history.

“The Voice” is produced by MGM Television, Talpa Media USA Inc. and Warner Horizon Unscripted & Alternative Television. The series was created by John de Mol, who serves as executive producer along with Mark Burnett, Audrey Morrissey, Amanda Zucker, Kyra Thompson and Stijn Bakkers.
