Marko Zaror’s Action Thriller ‘Redeemer’ Lands U.S. Distribution

MPI Media Group will release the movie next summer through its genre subsidiary Dark Sky Films

MPI Media Group has acquired all North American distribution rights to the action-thriller “Redeemer,” which reunites director Ernesto Díaz Espinoza with Chilean action star Marko Zaror, who previously worked together on “Kiltro,” “Mirageman” and “Undisputed III: Redemption.”

“Redeemer” stars Zaror as Pardo, an ex-hitman who’s made a deal with God to hunt down the men he used to work for. As a vigilante, he stops criminals in their tracks and gives them only one chance to ask for forgiveness. Bad guys being bad guys, they rarely listen, so Pardo disposes of them in gruesome ways. When he crosses paths with Bradock (Noah Segan), Pardo suddenly has an entire criminal organization to contend with and finds himself caring for a woman for the first time since the tragedy that sent him on his current course.

Produced by Moral Bros. Entertainment, the film will receive a theatrical release next summer under MPI’s genre subsidiary Dark Sky Films. “Redeemer” was executive produced by XYZ Films, which is launching foreign sales at AFM.

“We are proud to introduce this distinctive movie to North American audiences. This latest stylish and action-packed collaboration between Ernesto Díaz Espinoza and Marko Zaror demonstrates Zaror’s potential to be the next big name in action film,” said Greg Newman, executive VP of MPI Media Group, who announced the distribution deal on Thursday along with XYZ Films co-founder Nate Bolotin.
