‘Married at First Sight’ Reunion: Sheila and Husband Admit to ‘Setbacks’ in Marriage (Exclusive Video)

“Nate and I both have a lot of growing up to do,” she says on Lifetime series

“Married at First Sight” newlyweds Sheila and Nate have learned that staying married brings its share of challenges.

The couple had numerous spats throughout the Lifetime unscripted series’ fifth season before opting to stay together in last week’s finale. As seen in an exclusive sneak peek from Thursday’s reunion special, which airs in a new time at 8 p.m. ET, the pair have had some trouble navigating married life away from the cameras.

“We’ve had some setbacks in communication or arguments that weren’t handled appropriately — or just differences,” Sheila tells the show’s relationship experts. “And I think that Nate and I both have a lot of growing up to do.”

“I think any time you have a bad fight where you say things that are disrespectful or hurtful to one another, I think that you chip away at the foundation a little bit, and I recognize that,” she continues.

When Nate joins the conversation, he is not quick to open up about their struggles.

“Marriage is work — we understand that,” he eventually shares. “There have been some things that have come along the way that present a problem.”

Watch the tense clip above to see the couple react to getting asked whether they’re in fact still together.

“Married at First Sight,” produced by Kinetic Content, airs Thursday at 8 p.m. ET on Lifetime.
