Marvel ‘Inhumans’ IMAX Trailer Debut Delivers Thrills, Chills and a Giant Bulldog (Video)

Comic-Con: “Game of Thrones” villain Iwan Rheon is back on form in the comic book series

There’s nothing human about the curious cast of characters on Marvel’s “Inhumans,” as proven by the IMAX trailer that debuted at Comic-Con in San Diego Thursday night.

“What are we?” a female voice asks.

“What if I told you there was a place where people have powers like us?” comes the reply, as a giant Bulldog (Lockjaw) walks across the screen. “We’re Inhumans.”

The trailer also saw the chilling return of Ramsay Bolton actor Iwan Rheon, looking just as sinister but this time playing Maximus in the straight-to-series adaptation of the fan-favorite Marvel Comics series.

The character is described as “a clever and charming Inhuman that is fiercely devoted to the people of Attilan, especially his brother, the King — although he harbors an intense desire to wear the crown himself.”

“We need to go to Earth now — we need to strike first,” the “Game of Thrones” actor tells his rainbow-skinned colleagues.

Another new reveal on Thursday was that actress Ellen Woglom plays a woman named Louise who is “from Earth but has some special knowledge.”

Fittingly, the whole teaser plays out to the lyrics of “Human” by Rag ‘n’ Bone Man.

According to Disney’s latest press statement about the show, the legendary comic book series will be brought to life in a way that has never been done before, as a version of the first two episodes will be shown globally in IMAX theatres for a two-week period, beginning Sept. 1. ABC will then air the entirety of the series throughout this fall on the network, with additional exclusive content that can only been seen on ABC.

“Marvel’s Inhumans” explores the never-before-told epic adventure of the royal family including Black Bolt, the enigmatic, commanding King of the Inhumans, with a voice so powerful that the slightest whisper can destroy a city. After the Royal Family of Inhumans is splintered by a military coup, they barely escape to Hawaii where they are greeted with surprising interactions with the lush world and humanity around them. Now they must find a way to reunite with each other and return to their home before their way of life is destroyed forever.

Marvel’s “Inhumans” airs exclusively in IMAX Sept 1 and continues on ABC Sept 29.
