Marvel Releases First Look at Disney XD’s Animated ‘Black Panther’ TV Series (Video)

“Marvel’s Avengers: Black Panther’s Quest” will premiere Sept. 9

Marvel released the first trailer at its animated version of “Black Panther” on Friday.

“Marvel’s Avengers: Black Panther’s Quest” will air on Disney XD in September. It is technically the fifth season of the channel’s “Avengers Assemble” series, but this one is focusing exclusively on the Wakandan King.

But as you can see in the trailer, T’Challa will be visited by his Avengers compatriots Iron Man and Captain America.

Here is the logline for the season: When an ancient and mysterious threat rises to destroy Wakanda, Black Panther must cast away old alliances, old rules, and old friends and chart a new course forward for himself and for the people of Wakanda. With his sister Shuri by his side, Black Panther will decide what kind of king, what kind of Avenger, and what kind of man he will be.

The series comes as the live-action “Black Panther” from Marvel Studios garnered critical acclaim and box office success, earning $1.3 billion worldwide at the box office. The character, played by Chadwick Boseman in the films, has appeared in three Marvel Studios films: “Captain America: Civil War,” “Black Panther” and “Avengers: Infinity War.”
