“The Masked Singer” revealed another one of its Season 2 contestants during the show’s special Sunday, meaning there is just one more to go before we have the complete lineup for the Fox celebrity singing competition’s second year. And this one is the most dapper we’ve seen so far.
Tonight’s hour-long sneak-peek was used to, among other things, introduce viewers to Penguin, who you can meet in the tweet below. The black-and-white bird is the 15th Season 2 costume to be unveiled ahead of the show’s Sept. 25 return, with the others being Panda, Butterfly, Egg, Leopard, Flamingo, Skeleton, Fox, Eagle, Ice Cream, Tree, Rottweiler, Black Widow, Flower and Thingamajig.
“Masked Singer” panelist Jenny McCarthy is co-hosting Fox’s Emmy red carpet coverage next Sunday, which the network says will include the reveal of No. 16 of the 16 costumes.
Along with the debut of Penguin, tonight’s preview special featured the previously introduced Season 2 contestants and gave fans a few early clue about their identities. The sneak-peek event also saw “Masked Singer” host Nick Cannon and panelists McCarthy, Ken Jeong, Nicole Scherzinger and Robin Thicke “reflect on the fierce and swift impact the show has had on pop culture since making its debut” and included a special appearance by Season 1 winner T-Pain.
According to Fox, “collectively, all of the Season Two undercover celebrities have amassed 69 Emmy Award nominations, 42 Grammy Award nominations, 22 Broadway shows, three New York Times Best Sellers and two have been named Time magazine’s Most Influential People.”
