Matt Damon has finally revealed some plot points for the next “Bourne” film, hinting that the fifth installment in the franchise will unravel previously unanswered questions.

In an interview with the New York Daily News, Damon discussed his return to the role of Jason Bourne and was asked to give up some intel about the untitled sequel, given that plot points have thus far been kept under wraps.

“[Bourne] has his memory back, but that doesn’t mean he knows everything,” teases Damon. “It’s 12 years since Jason Bourne has been on the grid. So we have to answer the questions, Where’s he been? What’s he doing? What gets him going again? So once we solved all that, then we had a movie.”

Damon left the franchise after 2007’s “The Bourne Ultimatum,” at which point Jeremy Renner stepped in to lead the fourth movie. But now, Damon is back along with director Paul Greengrass.

Universal Pictures has been continuously announcing castings in the past couple of weeks. Most recently, Ato Essandoh joined the previously announced Tommy Lee Jones, Alicia Vikander, Vincent Cassel and Julia Stiles.

Frank Marshall will again serve as producer with Jeffrey Weiner for Captivate Entertainment. Greengrass, Damon, Greg Goodman and Ben Smith will also produce. Christopher Rouse and Henry Morrison serve as executive producers.

Rouse and Greengrass co-wrote the screenplay.

The untitled Bourne film has been set for a July 29, 2016 release.
