Maura Tierney Returns to ‘Rescue Me’

After cancer treatment, actress is back at work and shooting four episodes of FX show to air in 2011

FX confirmed that Maura Tierney is reprising her role in the cable network’s "Rescue Me."

The actress dropped out of NBC’s "Parenthood" in September in order to undergo treatment for breast cancer.

Tierney previously appeared in season five of FX’s "Rescue Me," playing Kelly McPhee, a love interest for series star and co-creator Denis Leary’s character.

The series currently is shooting seasons six and seven, and Tierney’s character will appear in four episodes of season seven, an FX rep said.

Season six begins airing in June.
