President-CEO’s salary remained unchanged at $1.1 million
AMC Entertainment President, Director and CEO Adam Aron had a nice 2018, hauling in $9.5 million. Aron’s all-in executive compensation was up just over 27 percent from 2017.
While Aron’s salary remained flat at $1.1 million, it was a big increase in his non-equity incentive plan compensation that accounted for the jump. His 2017 take in that executive compensation category was *just* $726,000. Last year, the movie-theater chain’s boss recognized $2.882 million under the same heading.
Though $9.5 million is a nice increase from the prior year’s $7.4 million, it actually does not represent Aron’s best year in recent memory. Back in 2016, Aron posted executive compensation of $10.9 million thanks mostly to a $4.5 million bonus.
In 2018, like 2017, Aron received no direct bonus. His stock awards dropped down a bit from $5.6 million to $5.5 million. No other changes were material to his final tally.
The company’s next highest-paid executive is CFO Craig Ramsey, who received $2.5 million. That number was up a bit from the $2.3 million he made in 2017. A trio of executive vice presidents, John McDonald, Elizabeth Frank and Mark McDonald, all posted a rounded $1.8 million in 2018.
AMC is the world’s largest chain of movie theaters. In the United States, Regal Cinemas and Cinemark Theatres are AMC’s closest competitors. Founded in 1920, AMC Theatres is headquartered in Leawood, Kan.
