‘Mercy’ Producers Berman, Braun Stick With NBC U

No big hits yet, but company has faith in the former Fox and ABC entertainment chiefs

NBC Universal is showing some "Mercy" to Gail Berman and Lloyd Braun, renewing the producers’ first-look deal for three more years.

While the duo’s first deal, signed in 2007, has yielded just one series ("Mercy"), NBC Universal Television Entertainment chairman Jeff Gaspin expressed enthusiasm for continuing a relationship with the well-respected producers.

"Gail Berman and Lloyd Braun are one of the best producing teams in the business with a truly impressive track record," Gaspin said. "We are very pleased to continue working with them on developing great content for NBC Universal."

In addition to the low-rated "Mercy" (which has been given a full season order), BermanBraun is also producing a pilot for NBC ("Rex Is Not Your Lawyer") and Syfy ("Alphas").

The company is also behind the so-so rated CBS comedy "Accidentally on Purpose" and the MTV reality series "Is She Really Going Out With Him? Their last deal was valued at roughly $2 million per year.

BermanBraun has arguably had more success on line than on the air. The company is partnered with MSN on the celebrity-focused Wonderwall.
