Meredith Vieira, Star Jones and Debbie Matenopoulos joined Joy Behar Friday on “The View” for a 20-year anniversary celebration.
The whole reunion was kept a secret until the throwback intros aired. A voiceover branded today’s episode, “Deja-View.”
Vieira, Jones, Matenopoulos and Behar were the series’ original cast members, along with creator Barbara Walters, who they said couldn’t make it today. Those five have each since left the ABC News daytime talker, though Behar has been back as a permanent panelist for a few seasons now.
The group dove right into “Hot Topics” on Friday, chatting away about President Obama and Donald Trump’s White House meeting. As per tradition, Vieira served as moderator, keeping Whoopi Goldberg’s chair warm. From there, they moved on to other issues, sharing show memories and catching viewers up on what each is currently doing, both professionally and personally.
The show even brought back the original table and chairs, which the cast ripped on as being terrible and uncomfortable. Later in the hour, “Quantico” star Priyanka Chopra showed up as guest.

It's no secret that Trump isn't a fan of journalists. Now CNN, NBC and other news organizations will have to watch closely to see if Trump follows through on promises to change libel laws and make it easier to sue journalists.
Labor issues/tax credits
The boss of the IATSE union issued a blistering takedown of Trump the day after the election, predicting "severe consequences" for Hollywood's rank-and-file workers.
Facebook & fake news
Some Democrats are angry that the social media site co-created by Mark Zuckerberg may have facilitated Trump's rise by spreading bogus stories about alleged Hillary Clinton malfeasance. Newsgathering organizations may reevaluate their social-media plans as a result.
