Michael Keaton Struts Around the ‘Ellen DeGeneres Show’ in Tighty Whities (Video)

The actor recalls a scene from “Birdman” as he dons white underwear again and promises to wear them at the Oscars

Ellen DeGeneres doesn’t want Michael Keaton to go the Oscars underdressed, so on Thursday, the talk show host gifted two pairs of her branded underwear to the “Birdman” actor.

“If you want something fancier, it’s your choice,” DeGeneres said, as she handed Keaton a pair of shimmering gold underwear.

“Woah, woah. Know that when the camera comes to me, and they say, ‘Who are you wearing?’” he said, holding up the gold briefs.

Seconds later, Keaton pulled on another pair of white undies over his brown suit and struck some model poses on the stage that would be worthy of a Calvin Klein commercial.

Keaton has earned praise for his role as a washed up superhero who attempts to get his life back on track days before the opening of  his Broadway play.

One of “Birdman’s” most memorable scenes involves the near-naked 63-year-old actor sprinting through Times Square in just a pair of tighty whities very similar to the ones Ellen gave him.

The Alejandro G. Iñárritu-directed film picked up nine Oscar nominations including Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role for Keaton, Best Performance by an Actor and Actress in a Supporting Role, Best Motion Picture of the Year and Best Achievement in Directing for Iñárritu.

The Academy Awards will take place on Sunday, Feb. 22 in the Dolby Theatre at the Hollywood & Highland Center in Hollywood.
