Miles Teller Shows the Scars of War in ‘Thank You For Your Service’ Trailer (Video)

Teller plays an Iraq War vet in the directorial debut of “American Sniper” writer Jason Hall

After earning an Oscar nomination for his screenplay for “American Sniper,” Jason Hall is making his directorial debut with DreamWorks’ “Thank You For Your Service,” a war film starring Miles Teller as an Iraq War veteran dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder.

Based on the non-fiction book of the same name by David Finkel, “Thank You For Your Service” stars Teller as Adam Schumann, a soldier struggling to readjust to civilian life after his service in Baghdad.

Alongside him are his platoon mates Michael Emory (Scott Haze), a soldier Schumann pulled out of a war zone and was left paralyzed after taking a bullet to the back of the head, and Tausolo Aieti (Beulah Koale), who claims the military made his life better but is secretly dealing with demons of his own. Amy Schumer and Haley Bennett also star.

Hall also wrote the script for the film, with Jon Kilik as producer. The film will be released by Universal on Oct. 27. Watch the trailer in the clip above.
