‘Mindhunter’ Trailer: David Fincher’s Serial Killer Series Seems Super Spooky (Video)

“How do we get ahead of crazy if we don’t know how crazy thinks?”

The trailer for Netflix’s show “Mindhunter” is here, and it’s just as creepy as a show about serial killers should be. The trailer begins with one killer saying, “It’s not easy butchering people. It’s hard work, physically and mentally. I don’t think people realize you need to vent.”

The David Fincher-produced series, set in 1979, follows two FBI agents, played by Jonathan Groff and Holt McCallany, as they listen to venting killers, searching for a way to understand the motivation behind their brutal and senseless violence in order to prevent future murders. “You know, there’s a lot more like me,” the serial killer in the trailer continues.

The agents travel to local police bureaus to teach FBI techniques in murder cases, and along the way try to find deeper understanding into the minds of the psychopaths they encounter.

If the trailer is any indication, the show will have plenty of gore (cue photos of brutalized female corpses) and mystery. “How do we get ahead of crazy if we don’t know how crazy thinks?” one agent asks at the end of the trailer.

“Mindhunter” premieres on Netflix Oct. 13, 2017. Watch the trailer above.
