Mindy Kaling has nailed down her next producing project, TheWrap has learned.

Kaling, star of Hulu’s “The Mindy Project,” has gotten a put pilot commitment from NBC for a comedy about two brothers whose carefree lives are interrupted by the arrival of one brother’s long-lost son. Charlie Grandy, a longtime Kaling collaborator, is also attached.

Universal Television and 3 Arts Entertainment are the production companies, along with the star’s firm Kaling International, Inc.

The official logline offers a setup a la “Two and a Half Men.”

“A charismatic gym owner with no ambition lives with his younger brother, a gorgeous idiot. Their simple life of women and working out is put on hold when they have to take in the older brother’s son… whom they have never met,” it states.

“The Mindy Project” premiered for its fifth season earlier this month. Kaling first came to prominence in NBC’s “The Office.”
