Mischa Barton went into apology mode early Friday, after angering many people with her Instagram post on police shooting victim Alton Sterling.

“I’m human I’m not perfect and I’m sorry if my Instagram post went out of context,” the actress wrote on Twitter. “I didn’t mean to offend anyone.”

But Barton did just that on Thursday, with an Instagram post paying tribute to Sterling, who was shot and killed by Baton Rouge law enforcement Tuesday night.

“I’m truly heartbroken to watch videos like the #altonsterling execution. This may have been going on forever in the United States but thank god the pigs get caught on camera now,” the actress wrote. “It is unthinkable and an embarrassment to America. The country I grew up in. Somebody make change. We need gun control and unity. And a real President so think about that when the election is around the corner.”

It wasn’t so much the written sentiment that angered critics, but the photo accompanying it, which depicted a bikini-clad Barton solemnly basking in the sun on a boat.

The “OC” actress deleted the post, but not before social media users got wind of it and tore into her.

Mischa Barton came riding in on her giant high horse of white privilege. Glad she got good lighting on the pic,” one detractor wrote.

Mischa Barton is a joke,” another weighed in. “Like why do people do ignorant stuff??”
