‘Mission: Impossible 5’ Accepts Christmas Day 2015 Release Date

Tom Cruise will star and produce the sequel with J.J. Abrams, whose “Star Wars: Episode VII” opens one week earlier

Paramount will release “Mission: Impossible 5” on Christmas Day 2015, which is just one week after Disney debuts J.J. Abrams’ blockbuster “Star Wars: Episode VII.”

Tom Cruise returns to produce alongside Abrams and Skydance Productions principal David Ellison, as well as reprise his role as super-spy Ethan Hunt.

It remains unclear whether he’ll be joined by fellow IMF agents Jeremy Renner, Paula Patton and Simon Pegg.

Drew Pearce wrote the script for the latest sequel, which will open the same day as Ben Affleck’s “Live By Night.”
