Molly Shannon to Star in and Produce Fox Comedy

The untitled show will focus on a successful mother and her stay-at-home pregnant daughter

Fox is developing a single-camera Molly Shannon comedy that will reunite the comedic actress with her one-time director, Bruce McCulloch.

The 3 Arts Entertainment in association with Twentieth Century Fox TV project, written and showrun by McCulloch, centers on Fiona (Molly Shannon) who, at the top of her professional career, clashes with her stay-at-home pregnant daughter.

Shannon and McCulloch teamed up on 1999’s “Superstar,” a comedy about Shannon’s popular “Saturday Night Live” character, Mary Katherine Gallagher. McCulloch was also a former “SNL” writer, and directed a few film segments for the sketch comedy show in the beginning of Shannon’s tenure.

David Miner will also executive produce the untitled project.
