“Fire and Fury” author Michael Wolff took a beating on the set of “Morning Joe” Thursday as co-host Mika Brzezinksi exploded over the author’s insinuation that Donald Trump might be having an affair with a woman in his administration.
Though Wolff has not named any individual, last week UN Ambassador Nikki Haley felt compelled to dismiss the “disgusting” rumors.
And that angered Brzezinski. “I’m going to go as far as to say you might be having a fun time playing a little game dancing around this but you’re slurring a woman, it’s disgraceful,” she told the author. “You’re on the set of ‘Morning Joe,’ we don’t BS here.”
Wolff first made the insinuation during an interview on “Real Time With Bill Maher” on Jan. 19 but on “Morning Joe” he attempted to wriggle out of it.
“I didn’t infer anything about Nikki Haley. What I inferred was that the president and many of the people around the president believe he is still involved with various women,” said Wolff.
Haley, for her part, has unequivocally denied any rumors of a relationship between her and Trump.
“[Haley] has been accused of nothing, she has decided to deny what she has not been accused of. Certainly I didn’t accuse her of this,” said Wolff, before demanding Brzezinksi read back anything he’s said to show otherwise.
But Brzezinksi wasn’t having it.
“Are you kidding me? I’m not reading you anything. If you don’t get what we’re talking about, I’m sorry, this is awkward, you’re here on the set with us, but we’re done.”
The show then went to break.
